Small Artworks On Paper
Maurice Golubov stated he had an abstract mind since very early. He was always interested in sounds and textures. Earlier, when he made fashion drawings, he felt he had to wipe his brush on the edge of the paper underneath. This accidental mark would disturb him. He wanted to make order out of chaos. He started to put a line here and one there, to make visual sense out of it. He started to make landscapes of the mind. To Golubov, he felt maybe there’s another world… In Golubov’s own words: “there are an infinite number of universes. Countless worlds within universes… which I believe to be real. And that’s the truth. Anything is possible in the mind… my mind… no matter how absurd it appears. It’s a reality; it exists. You’ve thought of it all. So why not a world radically different? That you can imagine. A world in a different type of universe altogether.”
